The use of weapons is categorized in three ways:
- Main Hand: When a weapon is held in the main hand, it is used for the character's main attacks. It is generally the most powerful and important weapon for combat.
- Off Hand: The off hand is reserved for lighter weapons or shields. You can choose to equip a shield to increase your physical defense (Def) or your magical defense (Def MAG).
It is also possible to add a particular accessory, such as a grimoire for mages or a shield for warriors, which can confer special advantages in combat or increase the character's magical power. - Mixed: Certain weapons can be used at the same time in Main Hand or Secondary Hand, they are considered Mixed.
- Two Handed: Certain weapons, such as two-handed swords or bows, require that both hands of the character be used. These weapons often provide greater attack power but prevent the use of a shield or offhand weapon.
