A creature's power indicator provides an indication of its strength and challenge level. This helps Game Masters (GMs) and players assess the difficulty of a battle or encounter.
- Standard: Standard creatures have hit points (HP) and damage (DM) typical of those commonly found in the game world. They generally do not pose significant challenges for an experienced group of players.
- Mini-Boss: Mini-boss-level creatures are more powerful than average. They may have boss-level HP or DM, making them more formidable. It is important to specify if the creature is a mini-boss by placing "(HP)" or "(DM)" in parentheses. For example, "Mini-Boss (HP)" indicates that the creature has HP comparable to a boss, while "Mini-Boss (DM)" means it inflicts boss-level damage.
- Boss: Boss-level creatures are formidable and powerful opponents. They have both boss-level HP and DM, making them major challenges for a group of players. Boss battles are often epic and require careful preparation by the players.
By using these power indicators, Game Masters can adjust the difficulty of encounters to provide a balanced and exciting gaming experience for their players.
Reminder: The creature's power indicator determines the experience points earned during the encounter.
