To make your weapon deadlier, you can consider enhancing its damage. However, there are some rules to follow.
You can also increase the damage by adding a damage bonus.
Each additional point of damage costs 20 Nexus Shards (NX). However, the maximum value of damage bonuses cannot exceed +5.
Example: If you want to add +2 to your weapon's damage, it will cost you 40 NX.
You cannot change the initial damage die type of the weapon.
Example: If your weapon currently deals 1d6 damage, you cannot change it to 1d8.
However, you can increase the number of dice rolled for damage. Yet, the total number of dice for a weapon cannot exceed 3 or 4 for two-handed weapons.
Moreover, increasing the number of dice reduces the damage bonus and the attack test bonus by -1 for each die added.
Each additional die incurs a different cost based on its maximum value:
| Die | D4 | D6 | D8 | D10 | D12 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Value | 40 | 60 | 80 | 100 | 120 |
Example: To add an extra d6 die, it would cost you 70 NX, but the weapon's attack and damage bonuses would be reduced by 1.
