All this instability was not without effect on the Absolute. Emanations of negative energy passed through the gate, extending their dark tendrils around. Initially few and without influence on this world of purity, they harmonized with the ethereal energy. Some Observers were seized by these dark vines and were pulled back through the Gate, disappearing forever from the Absolute. The remaining scrutineers, terrified, backed away, putting themselves out of reach of the dark emanations, but nourished by the growing desolations, they strengthened and increased in size, whipping the mist layers and striking the ground with violence, making the entire Absolute vibrate. The terror of the Observers was transmitted to other ethereal beings through the collective consciousness.
A new group of people was designated for their art in preserving harmony. This group was sent to assist the Observers of the Gate to find a way to contain this new threat while continuing to observe what was happening in the outer realms. The Absolute could not afford to lose more souls, for the balance was precarious, even more so since this influx of disharmonizing concepts. How to limit these negative effects?
The collective consciousness found several answers to this vital question for the realm. First, it was necessary to limit the influx of sensations from these imperfect worlds to all the souls of this world. The decision was made to isolate the Observers from the collective consciousness. To this end, their souls were sanctified, making them imperceptible to other ethereal beings, and they were named the Guardians of the Gate. Their mission was to prevent the tentacular emanations from passing through the Gate. The scrutineers had to be able to monitor everything that happened beyond without allowing what happened beyond to disturb the balance in the Absolute.
The Guardians of the Gate erected two barriers. One surrounded the gate, preventing the negative energy tentacles from penetrating. The other materialized in the form of a building, enclosing the gate in a space that allowed no sensation to escape. Immediately, the effects were felt. All negative sensations ceased to exist, the disharmony limited to the Domain of the Guardians called the Antechamber was diminished in the rest of the world as before the birth of the Gate. Souls could return to their tasks in harmony and tranquility.
