The Travelers were often defenseless against the local fauna and inhabitants, and their role was crucial in the return of harmony to the Realms. Thus, the Artisans busied themselves with providing equipment capable of traveling through the Gate. Elara, a master Artisan, made the first Outfits from the synchronized energy of the Artisans and the Akashic Masters.
She began by harvesting energy emitted by the Gate, pure emanations of the Outer Worlds. This power from the dimensional fabric was woven thanks to her mastery of shaping, transforming it into shimmering fabrics imbued with the possibilities and hopes of the Distant Realms. Once the technique was mastered, she entrusted the task to her colleagues. The fabric itself was just a material that could pass through the Gate in both directions but added nothing more to the Travelers.
So, Elara gathered a few Akashic Masters. The goal of the Artisan was to concentrate the knowledge of certain fields into Nexus Shards, these pure jewels of pure energy. Under her instructions, the Sages selected certain knowledge that they concentrated into complex mental patterns. They shared these with Elara, who transcribed them into the energetic fabric of the Nexies. The stones began to pulse with new energy; she named them Capability Crystals. Then, by probing them, Elara could detect within them all the specific knowledge derived from the Library.
All she had left to do was to seal the jewels in the outfits to make them remarkable artifacts: The Travelers were no longer defenseless upon arrival. The second feat of the Artisans was achieved.
